Engineering a Great Wine Tasting in Buenos Aires
By nature I am a very mathematical person. My mind is always running around everywhere, and is just filled with numbers. The one thing that has always been able to calm it down has been wine. My favorite kind of wine has always been Malbec from Buenos Aires, so I have decided to finally make the journey down to Buenos Aires and attend one of the best wine tastings in Buenos Aires.
The first few days in Buenos Aires were frustrating as I was unable to find accommodation that’s suits my economic background. After a bit, I soon relaxed and everything was running smoothly. I decided to take a wine tasting class. After 4 hours of morning class, there was a break in order to have lunch. They served us a type of wine that I had never heard of called Bonarda. This is a red grape varietal that is not very common, and is really only popular in Argentina.
After I finished my class, I decided to go out for a drink with an Argentine guy I met there. His name was Francisco, and he knew a lot about the history of Argentina and the history of Malbec wine. He explained to me that Argentine wine used to be sold at a very cheap price, but now it is growing more expensive because there are many foreigners who come to Argentina specifically to buy their tasty red wine. He told me that I must attend the best wine tasting in Buenos Aires with him, otherwise I would kick myself later.
I ended up attending this awesome wine tasting, and it was everything Francisco made it out to be and more. We were given five awesome wines, with five different food pairings. It was truly remarkable how food changes the flavor of wine. I was amazed, and still am to this day.
